Breanna Duncan, BSN, RN, IBCLC, RLC (Owner of The Mama Mantra and Lead Consultant in Georgia)
After receiving her BSN from Kennesaw State University in Georgia and sitting for her R.N. boards, she began her career as a Registered Nurse on a Cardiovascular Pulmonary Unit at an Atlanta hospital for 1 year. From there, she followed her heart to Women's Services where she worked as a Mother/Baby R.N. for 2.5 years. That is where she fell in love with helping moms with breastfeeding their new babies. Her passion for helping with breastfeeding and educating led her to pursue becoming an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). She began practicing as an IBCLC in August of 2014 at another Atlanta, GA hospital (most often the busiest baby-having hospital in the country) and never looked back.
Life brought Breanna and her husband to Austin, TX in January of 2016 where she began working at St. David’s North Austin Medical Center in their Lactation Department. Her passion for getting into the community to provide education and in-home visits led her to start The Mama Mantra in Spring of 2016, a dream that was a couple of years in the making and the rest is history! Breanna was nominated as one of the best IBCLCs in Austin in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. She has won the Austin Birth Award for “Best IBCLC/Lactation Consultant Practice” in 2017, 2018 and 2020. Breanna and her husband welcomed their first child at home in March of 2019.
In November 2020, life brought them back to Georgia to be near family. Breanna dabbled in homestead life in Rockmart, GA for a few years while continuing her private practice. In October 2022, they welcomed a sweet baby boy at home to make a family of four. Soon after, they moved to Dallas, GA. Breanna has an office on the Dallas/Acworth line and continues to provide home visits within a wide range around the Northwest metro Atlanta area.
